beware

When the bedtime routine is too good to be true ... beware!

When she says goodnight and seemingly goes straight to sleep ... beware!

When you pat yourself on the back that you did really well to handle the routine smoothly and that you really
caught her at the 'perfect moment' for sleepiness - beware!

When even your seven year son old says, "She was a good girl tonight!" - be afraid. Act fast!

When you are confronted by "Chucky's bride"- you'd better grab your camera, document it for posterity and get her to the bathroom - aka the scene of the massacre mascara, immediately!

When your baby is ankle deep (literally) in lipstain (and boy did it stain),
when you're soaking pj's in stain remover,
when you're using your favourite make-up remover pads to clean blackberry Guerlain lipstain,
, from the tiles, the cabinets, and the grout,
you'd better find a sense of humour fast!
Lord, give me strength!

You never know what you'll find in this space do you?  I really, really hope I'll be back very soon with something much more aesthetically pleasing!  .

Have a fabulous day everyone!

me too!

Naturally, if it's the pirate life for Tigs it is too for Woo!

I love how she posed for this. I had to wait until she had her leg in position. She heard the 'click' of the camera and rushed to check if the image was perfect - well, in her eyes anyway.

She's definitely front of stage this one!

Actually she's more 'in your face'.

Funny little Woo, we do love you!

Thanks for visiting today.

aaahh haarr, me hearties

Tigs had his school expo this week.  Such fun to see the work he's been doing and to play with some of the fun activities he's been enjoying at school.  We played with batteries, used the coolest hand held microscope to examine a stick insect and made paper planes.

The bell rang and we had to leave the class and head to the hall for a performance that the grade 1 and 2's had prepared.  Good guess.  It was a pirate play.
Ooh, and don't forget International Talk Like a Pirate Day is coming up soon!!

My beautiful boy is quite shy and although he said he wasn't nervous about performing on stage he really struggles to remember lyrics to songs, and feels a little self-conscious.
He's much more sure of himself behind the scenes than centre-stage!
He did really well though and I am so proud of him.

Well done sweetheart!

You may have wondered how I managed to get the whole cupboard sorted in one hit,
and blog twice  three times today.

I had the perfect assistant!

[before + after] linen cupboard happiness - after

Ta dahhhh!

It's by no means perfect, but it's an enormous improvement
and it makes me feel like I've cleared a little bit of my brain in the process.

Tell me what's in your linen cupboard?
Will you share your before and afters?
Go on, it makes you feel so much better :)

I hope you're having a super day.  The rain has held off here so far.
Bound to begin as I collect Tigs from school ;)

Thanks for visiting,

E x

[before + after] oh, the horror - before

The linen cupboard.
I barely needed to take things out, it practically emptied itself!

The Sort.

The Purge.

I'll be back as quick as I can with the 'after' to soothe your horrified eyes.

Oh, but it feels so good.  I love a good purge.  These bags are off to my local charity shop, the AAPS.  Anything that can't be re-sold can be used for the animals the AAPS help.
There are lots of super soft towels in there.

And my favourite part - I gain 3 garbage bags of space in my house back!

So peaceful.  So focused. So satisfied.

So rewarding.
