sweet lips

jammy doughnut muffins recipe nigella made by me!
these scrumptious little morsels are soaked in melted butter and dredged in sugar.
yikes for the hips, yum on the lips!

the most deliciously beautiful, sugary lips - bit blurry, but they were trying to escape!!

I thought they were perfect for post-tonsillitis treats but truth be told he didn't like the jam in the middle. I, on the other hand, ate more, many more, than my fair share...

what's that hiding at the back? yippee it's the best kind of mail!

my long awaited labels

this little handmade ball looks cute but pretty drab - although Twinkle still loves it

but I think these little properly labelled presents for some new baby girls look fab!

last days of holiday

Our last days at Yarrambat were every bit as wonderful as the others. We celebrated the last full day with a picnic in the 'garden'. It's about two acres to romp around, in(not counting the bottom field.
Twinkle's first picnic
no flies, just pesky pups

tigs and the 'sabre tooth cat tooth'! he did his full Nigel Marven impersonation too.

look carefully, it's a heart shaped patch of grass. Tigs yelled, "Quick take a photo of the grass heart!". he's my offical deputy blogger.

mother nature does it again

We had such a lovely, unplanned and unexpectedly wonderful day. Our very special friends Lizzie, M & J came to visit us in the bush. Lizzie and I walked a terribly windy road to our babies but were so lucky to have had each other through it all. Somehow in spite of our wildly different journeys (but equally difficult) it ended up that our babies are only 4 ½ months apart in age. Amazing.

Baby Yeong Joon & Twinkle playing together

It’s always so relaxing to spend time with Lizzie. We took all four children down to the dam and the big guys had a ball with the water and the mud and were planning all sorts of adventures down there. Such fun.

The sky was what I call ‘Arizona Blue’ – Magic. My grandfather (Hi Davidad/Grandaddy) lives in Arizona and the sky there is indescribably blue. I think the only way you would ever understand how blue it is, is to go and see it for yourself. I think yesterday’s sky here came as close as I’ve seen.

There is so much to look at around the dam and some old weathered and sun bleached corrals and fence posts that were begging to be photographed before they completely disintegrate.

little explorers

The little ones needed to go to sleep (Baby Twinkle nodded off in the baby carrier). And Lizzie’s wee one was going to go to bed as soon as we came in. Well, that was the Mummies’ plan. The babies disagreed entirely and Twinkle woke up as soon as I took her out of the pouch and Lizzie’s babe never even tried to sleep!

And then Mother nature gave us another glorious morning - this morning. Chill, still and every bit as beautiful as yesterday. Thick fog blanketed the valley this morning and even now sits heavily. The sun is desperately trying to clear it aside and we’re heading for another lovely Autumn day. Or are we in winter now?

oh what a beautiful morning

Yarrambat
sunrise this morning, just glorious
yesterday afternoon

gumtree bark

plenty of firewood to keep us warm

ready to flower

ah - the 'bad' dog shows her cheeky little face

I know BooBoo won't be happy but the boys had fun on the tractor

We're having such a lovely time up here, house and dogsitting. The air feels clean and crisp and the wide open space calming and liberating.

The sunrise this morning was just beautiful. It crept up over the ridge and lit up the house with the most beautiful golden glow. It's chilly this morning up here but so warm in the sunshine. Right, back for some more Vitamin D!

For my Mummy

Ned and Pippy
Two 'good' puppers!
The 'bad' one was chasing bunnies under the fence and into the next door field. She did come back, eventually, and absolutely in her own time. I promise I'm looking after them all well Mummy. But as gorgeous as Lexi is, she is also pretty wicked. I'll try and catch her in a 'good' moment and then you can see her too.
Miss you Ma and Tim but we are having a lovely time looking after things here!
